Weekend Wrap Up for 10/22-10/24

Hey Sport Club Fans! WKU Sport Clubs had another weekend of many events that we are ready to tell you about. Let's start with Women's Rugby. Women's Rugby traveled to Sewanee College on Saturday and won 83 to 5! It was Emmy Snider, Smantha Lindenmayer, and Amanda Paschall's first time ever scoring. Christina Bradley(President of the Club) said, "This game was vital for our team because it was a victory we need to bring up our morale."

The WKU Dodgeball Club Team also was on the road this week at Western Illinois University to play in their tournament. Western won two of the three games defeating University of Wisconsin-Plattville and Depaul University. President and Captain of WKU Dodgeball said, "We did extremely well working as a team and communicating."

Field Hockey was also another WKU Sport Club that hit the road this past Sunday for a tournament at Vanderbilt. The Field Hockey team won both of their games against Vanderbilt and Saint Louis University. Captain Shelby Overstreet commented on how she was very proud of the team. They showed great sportmanship and gave all their effort in both games.

At home this week we had the the WKU Ultimate Frisbee Club hosting their annual tournament. It was a two day tournament with over 150 people in attendance! WKU won three of their four games and finished third in the tournament. WKU Alumni team ended up leaving the tournament in first place. Michelle Passi, the President of the Ultimate Frisbee Club told Sport Clubs that everthing was fantastic! All of the teams showed up and everyone had a great time. She is also hoping that their next event will be larger when they invite more teams!

Women's Volleyball also had a home tournament this past Sunday. They hosted Vanderbilt and Middle Tennessee State University. WKU had so many players show up that they had a Red team and a Black team. WKU Red put up a great effort but fell short of victory. WKU Black however won both of their games.

We also had the Men's Rugby Club and the Fencing Club play this past weekend. More information from both of them games will be coming in the near future. Until then, we are very proud of all Club Sports here at WKU and their success this past weekend. Until next time...GO TOPS!
